Dr. Kadra Weaver, PSY.D

Dr. Weaver has a warm professional demeanor and enthusiasm for her job, but is mostly incompetent when it comes to important skills for a therapist. She does not offer trauma-informed care, which is to say in brief that she is not equipped to treat patients with a trauma history. Her mediocre-to-poor insight led me astray more than once in damaging ways. Her approach seemed overly informed by her personal life. I felt really uncomfortable hearing her describe negative elements of her personal life in detail, especially as they were irrelevant to my treatment. She was quick to become exasperated in an unprofessional manner when I calmly explained my disagreements with her over such things. Dr. Weaver was also ineffectual at dialectical behavioral therapy for a variety of reasons, and that was likely contributed to by the fact she doesn't have her patients using the official DBT workbook, but an unofficial workbook sold her clinical office.

I saw Kadra for a year. She was welcoming and supportive, positive, insightful and wise beyond her clinical years, and just fun to be around. After years of trying different therapists, I finally received a proper diagnosis under her care. Girl knows her stuff. She'll make sure you understand everything about your condition, and she'll give you the right tools to make positive changes that last.
