Extremely belittling
From the start, my visits with Justin Knox have left me feeling belittled and defeated. Every appointment feels like an uphill battle, scolding me for asking questions, laughing at my concerns, and dismissing my feelings outright. I have seen many doctors in my time, and have never felt so frustrated.

When discussing my symptoms and concerns he was very dismissive and made me feel like he just didn’t care, and that he was only going to do what “was necessary”. He made me feel like I was just another number to him. He literally said he would “forget about the conversation and about me over the weekend”. I understand that it is entirely the case but that is something you just shouldn’t say to your patient, it’s completely unprofessional and rude. I was in no way excessive or demanding with my concerns, and even if I was that is just no way to treat a patient. He just seemed moody from the moment he walked in and just seemed to want to get it over with as soon as possible so he could keep going down his list. He has no bedside manner, he doesn’t genuinely listen or care about his patients or their concerns at all.

If the option of leaving 0 stars were available, I would use it. I read another review on this doctor and I truly felt sorry for the patient that left in tears. I also left the clinic feeling devastated about my medical conditions and also without any plan whatsoever for the future. Why is he a doctor if he does not help patients? Multiple patients have left bad reviews. The UofU used to have better standards for physicians and better quality of care. What happened?

Why is he a doctor? – Dec 01, 2021

Within 5 minutes of the first appointment he dismissed my chest pain and pain between shoulder blades as psychosomatic and told me I had anxiety. Left the appointment in tears and the same night after dinner had excruciating pain in my right rib stomach area that radiates to my right shoulder blade. I suspect gallstones but now I feel if I go back I will sound like a hypochondriac.

I’ve never had a physician spend so much time and energy working with me on my case, concerns, questions, and available options! He is patient, intelligent, empathetic, and open-minded. I’m so grateful he is my primary healthcare provider and hope I can remain with him as long as I am in Utah.

Justin allowed me to go to the hospital as I was recovering from covid and get some strong anti-inflammatories that eased the incredibly painful headaches I was having after the previous nurse I had had a virtual appointment with told me to "wait it out". It immediately cleared the ear-splitting headache I had had for two weeks that made my eyes feel like they were bulging out of my head. The next week, a 22 year old (my age) died here from a swollen brain after having covid with the same symptoms I had. I have no idea how covid was affecting my head and surely it was not as serious but I am incredibly appreciative he took the time to take my pain seriously unlike the other nurse, especially with a disease which, at the time, there was very little information about.
