A true leader in Grand Rapids!
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dr. Smith both as a personal trainer and as a patient over the last five years and I can’t recommend her enough. She’s an exceptional physical therapist who really knows how to get to the root cause of pain, not just treat the symptoms. Her assessments are spot-on, and her treatment plans are strategic, effective, and personalized. Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, a sports injury, or just trying to move better, Julianne is my go-to expert. Professional, knowledgeable, and truly invested in your recovery, she’s a total game-changer for pain relief, injury rehab, and mobility training.

The best PT!!!
Julianne is amazing!!! I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is searching for a PT! She helped me return to collegiate athletics after an injury and helped me be able to run again! As an athlete she has made a huge impact on my life and I am so grateful for her knowledge and kindness.

The BEST surgery rehab PT there is!
My daughter was diagnosed with a rare injury that required surgery on both elbows, using pieces from both knees. We knew the rehab and recovery was going to be intense, and also knew that we’d need to find the right person to walk along beside her for the duration. From the initial visit, Dr Julianne treated my daughter with the utmost care and respect. She followed the plan from the surgeon and worked to progress my daughter back to a full return to sport. She spent time explaining what was going on and what they would be working on to help heal and gain strength and flexibility. Dr Julianne knows the importance of staying mentally healthy during the rehab journey. She took time to check in with my daughter on her mentally as well as physically. After somewhat regular visits for about a year, my daughter was able to fully return to sport. She will forever be thankful to have Dr Julianne walk beside her during this journey. I would recommend Dr. Julianne to any young athlete!

I was referred to seek physical therapy treatment having severe pain in my neck and shoulder. I met Julianne and right away I could tell she was extremely knowledgeable and had a lot of compassion for her work and her patients. We immediately started with manual therapy and stability exercises. A few months later I am pain free and my quality of life has improved immensely! Not all heroes wear capes!

OUTSTANDING... Dr. Julianne is far and away the most knowledgeable and kindest DPT my family has ever dealt with. No-one knows more, or works half as hard as she does to help her patients. my whole family has utilized her services for many different issues, including my young son with Down syndrome who wont let anyone touch his body... she is a magician . Dr. Julianne wants her patients to succeed and anyone who has had the pleasure of her services will tell you the same. There is no-one better ! Don't trust your health to anyone else !!

I went to Dr. J after suffering from some persistent neck problems. By the time I got to her, I couldn't turn my next left very far. From my first evaluation, she sat with me and empathized with my pain, and most importantly, really helped me understand the root of my problem. She's clearly incredibly knowledgeable, and I instantly felt like my issue would be resolved. I'm a fairly active 40 year old mom and I plan on being active for a long time - the best part of working with Dr. J is that she both "fixed" me in the short term but also set me up to think about my body in the long term. You'll leave your appointment feeling so much better about your body/problem, and so grateful to have been in her presence. After years of going to various chiropractors and PTs, Dr. J has my business for life. Get an appointment with her ASAP - don't wait a minute longer!

I was referred to Dr. Julianne Smith due to balance and gait issues. During my evaluation appointment with Julianne, she was able to identify conditions that were affecting my balance and gait. She very clearly explained how these conditions all worked (or in my case were not working) together to achieve balance. Through exercise and core strengthening, as well as physical massage, Julianne helped me a great deal. Many of my issues stem from arthritis and stenosis in my neck. She taught me that, although PT could not eliminate my conditions, there are many daily stretches and exercises I can do to alleviate my pain. I also needed to change my sleeping position, because stomach sleeping is not great for my neck. Julianne was very patient with me as I tried to find the "right" pillow and leg wedge to accomplish comfortable sleep. Over a 3 week period, I brought in many possible options until we found the right one for me. I now sleep well and usually wake up pain free! She's great!!

I cannot imagine seeing another PT after working with Julianne! I saw her for 4 months to treat my chronic lower back injury and left feeling strong and confident, knowing that I am prepared to handle any future pain reoccurrences. She is a compassionate person who actively listens and confidently address her patients’ needs. Not only is Julianne extremely knowledgeable about the human body and how to treat it, but her personal experiences with injuries gifts her the ability to relate to her patients and create their best treatment plan. Her manual soft tissue therapy has saved my life on many days where my muscles were spasming and I was in horrible discomfort! I truly could not be more grateful for her support and encouragement throughout this process and recommend her to anybody in the area in search of an outstanding PT.

Julianne is an amazing Physical Therapist and an expert in ACL rehab/recovery. I worked with her for post-op rehab as well as Sportsmetrics™ return-to-sport training and could not be happier with the results. Julianne is extremely knowledgable and very personable - she cares for the whole patient, not just the specific injury that they’re in for. Expect a warm greeting when you walk in and trust that she’ll remember how your last session went and what you talked about. She adapts each session to where you’re at and what your needs are for that day. Her explanations and reasoning are clear and informative and the training is tailored to your sport/lifestyle specific needs. With her help I’m stronger than I was before my injury, more knowledgable on how to prevent re-injury, and confident in my ability to return to normal activity. I cannot recommend her enough. Thanks for getting me back to the Good Life, Julianne!

Only 500 characters huh, that will be tough. Julianne is THE BEST in every way of PT. From the very first to the very last visit. She studies up on you & your reports. She's very compassionate, listens & encourages. She would always tell me what she was doing, what it does, & why she was working on it. Her knowledge of the human body & how it works is incredible! I am back and feeling great! She has a rare gift and is a rare gift! I will definitely recommend & be a regular of Dr. Julianne's.

Julianne is hands-down the best therapist I have ever had. She is always extremely pleasant to talk to and work with. She took my interests of yoga and hiking and applied those to the exercises she came up with, combining conventional practice that she knows very well with her own sort of holistic twist that helped me an insane amount. My case was very unique and potential results unknown, but I am incredibly happy with the amount of healing she helped me to accomplish. She has a true gift.

Dr. Smith is a wonderful physical therapist. It is evident that she is passionate about her work and that comes through in the quality of care and time she spends with her patients. I would recommend her to anyone needing a physical therapist. She is quite simply amazing! She responded to my particular needs. My case was probably an average case but she treated me like I was an Olympic athlete that is she gave me excellent care and the kind of attention you get from high level professionals.

I was referred to Dr. Smith in 2013 after surgery and was immediately impressed with her talents. First, in her ability to quickly and effectively diagnose my Physical Therapy treatment plan through a series of questions and answers which were presented in a clear, systematic format. Second, through her high skill level in executing my Therapy program. She not only repaired the physical component, but her unusual likability factor and down to earth nature made for for an enjoyable experience.
