Dr. Joseph Carafice, OD

One of the Best Optometrists around. I traveled 50 minutes for my eye exam. Very Thorough and Knowledgeable.

My overall experience with Dr Carafice's thoroughness and technical expertise, as well as the equipment, facilities and staff is A+++. Dr Carafice did an initial eyeglass prescription after I had to stop wearing contacts, and asked me to come back several weeks later to make sure nothing changed. A slight tweak to the initial prescription, and I was pleasantly surprised that there was NO followup charge.I've had eye issues for 30+ yrs and he is by far the most thorough, conscientious eye doctor I've seen.

Best eye exam I have ever had! Dr. Carafice took the time to explain to me everything he was doing and what he was looking at on the photos of my eyes. He is also super nice. I will definitely keep using him as my eye doctor!

Dr. Carafice discovered an anomaly on my retina on both eyes during my annual eye exam. This anomaly was potentially very serious. Dr. Carafice quickly contacted the Cincinnati Eye institute and obtained an appointment for me the following morning which was New Year's Eve! I am very impressed that he was so thorough to have discovered the potentially serious problem and took the time in the evening to get this addressed so quickly. I recommend him to anyone and everyone. Fantastic Doctor!!

Found the doctor to be competent, professional, efficient.

I had my vision appointment done at the Middletown Walmart Vision Center by him. When he left, he apparently took all his patient prescriptions with him. Well, from 01/11/20 to now, my prescription somehow got lost. So yesterday, I went to the Franklin Walmart Vision Center to get a replacement pair of glasses. That was when I was told I had to call him to get him to fax my prescription over to have the order put through. Upon calling them many times because no one was picking up, I was connected to a lady who told me she couldn't find my prescription and that I was not on their servers. So now I'm unsure what can be done because he moved to another store and lost my prescription...

This doctor was very reassuring and very detailed. I felt confident that any issue I had with my vision would be addressed. He listened and explained to be what was happening to my vision and took steps to find a resolution which made me feel as if it would be resolved and I had not to worry.

Dr. Carafice is an amazing OD that I will be returning to. I'm someone who has a lot of specific questions about my eyes and he answered them all very thoroughly. He explained what he was doing when testing my vision and detailed how his measurements helped him make decisions for glasses and contact lenses. He also took me through my retinal scan and explained the various findings.

My first visit with Dr. Carafice was just in June and I have to say it was one of the best eye exams I ever had and I've had glasses for over 30 years. I see so clear on all levels with my new ones. He is also working with me to find the best contacts, I am super excited! Other Dr.'s tried and I just gave up on wearing them. I can't believe the freedom of contacts!! Totally recommend him to my family and friends.

My visit was back in 2012. The glasses that I received are the best I have ever had in 69 years. He is an excellent doctor. I live out of the area but will have to make a trip soon to see him for two more sets of glasses.

Very personable and excellent care

My family and I have been going to him for years and I would NEVER go to another doctor. I was going to an ophthalmologist who didn't find what Dr. Carafice did - he actually saved my life. He suggested I get a physical and it's a good thing I did because I had hardening of the arteries behind the eyes which was never told to me by a specialist! My doctor was VERY impressed. He also found a problem with my son's exam which the other doctor didn't find. He's great - I ALWAYS recommend him!
