Phone appointment: He was very rude and condescending. He challenged me on everything I said and had a disrespectful attitude. Poor "bedside manner."

Extremely rude and condescending. I had a scheduled call for 11:40 this morning since having issues with my health. I was a new patient, so I had several interactions with the staff prior to his call. They were all calls made from the doctor’s office which appeared on the caller ID as well as identification being communicated when they called to speak to me. I received a call an hour before my scheduled time from a number that did not have a caller ID attached to it. I answered the phone and when the man asked to speak to me I explained it was me, in which he responded with “this is James from El Centro, what’s going on?” I was confused as to who was calling me because I had already provided information to the nurse who had called me earlier that morning and he did not explain that he was the doctor, he just stated his name was John and what could he help me with. I asked if he had read my chart because I was unsure what this was in regards to since my appointment was not for another hour and I had already spoke to the nurse. He quickly became angered in his voice and said, “ this is not how that works I talked to numerous patients a day when I call you you tell me what’s going on.“ I explained the reason why I asked is because he never provided information on who he was in my appointment wasn’t for another hour so I wasn’t sure who I was talking to. He said, “ oh I’ll put that in my notes so I start telling people who I am when I call, what’s the problem.” At this point I was really upset and confused because I am a new patient and I am unsure of how this process works while also feeling sick. I explained to him the symptoms I was having and Requested the antibiotics because I was within the timeframe needed. He stated that I was over the timeframe and when I explain to him that I was still within the timeframe allotted and why I wasn’t able to see him until today he began to speak over me and continued to be agitated. He then was able to locate the documents necessary to provide a prescription, but it was a very unpleasant experience.

We were not allowed to see him on our first visit a student came out alone without being supervised by Mr. Scott who proclaims to be an M. D. And is only a PA. On our 3rd. Visit half an hour before closing and was an hour plus late which cut our visit short. He was acting strange couldn’t keep eyes open stated he didn’t have time to read medical records due to having 28 patients. Refused to continue give my husband pain medication going into full withdrawals and knowing that it can and has caused death. Not recommend he is playing with peoples live. Treat you like an addict. Not a good doctor.

He's been my PA for a while now. I've never met him in person, just by phone but he seems pretty level headed.
