When I called in Dec. to make an appt for my husband for his after cataract surgery glasses the first appt. available was in Feb. There was no mention of them not being able to bill Medicare which pays for the first pair of eyeglasses after surgery. I called because my husband is hard of hearing. The day that he arrived for his appt. I told them that he would not hear them if he was called when waiting in the car. They told him that he had to pay $555 right then and he understood that we had to bill Medicare. Called Medicare, got a claim form and sent it in. They rejected it because Dr. Martell doesn't have some kind of permission to bill them. The office then told me that they didn't know how and I should get Medicare to give them the authorization. So we are out $555.

I have always had a GREAT experience with all the providers at Dr. Martell & Associates. They always explain any insurance coverage and are willing to take the time to go over my plan with me and call the insurance provider to check any coverage options. In addition to always receiving the best care and exams, the customer service is consistently fantastic and I have been a patient since 2012!!! I will continue to go to this practice for both my contact and glasses purchases!!!

Horrible, horrible customer service at the front desk. They are rude, notoriously unwilling to admit their mistakes and never willing to make those mistakes right. If you're looking for a dependable optometrists office, look elsewhere. These are just awful people.

Terrible customer service...really bad front desk ppl. I can't even tell u how bad. Not only myself has experienced this but a few other ppl I know. In multiple occasions they have tried to collect.money from me upfront right away when it isant authorised. My insurance has no Co pay and also pays for routine exams...they also did this to my bf. We both refused. It's almost like they are pocketing money or trying to scam ppl.
