Dr. John Bevil, OD

My usual optometrist that I have been seeing for the past few years told me this year that my right eye could not be adjusted to get to 20 20 vision. I decided to seek another optometrist for a second opinion. found Dr, Bevil through the web. I went to see him today. Dr. Bevil was very thorough. He has some very modern devices to check eyes. He was very patient in listening to my story and proceeded to examine my eyes, I was in his examining room for almost 45 minutes while he did various tests and adjustments. This was the first time I ever spent that long with an eye doctor. Finally after he performed various tests and adjustments, he told me my right eye did not have any issues, as he confirmed to me that he was able to use various setting on the instruments. I’m mightily impressed by his thoroughness and expertise.

Our entire family has been patients for over 10 years. I have a tricky prescription, but Dr. Bevil sticks with it patiently to get just the right prescription for my glasses and contacts. At each appointment he asks questions and takes the time to really listen. He cares deeply about checking out the health of my eyes, and he has state of the art equipment to make diagnoses. While he is completely thorough in the exam, I have never waited more than a few minutes. When my husband had an issue during the height of the pandemic, Dr. Bevil cane in especially to see Mike. The pre-exam tests were so accurate that Dr. Bevil was able to quickly diagnose a retinal tear. He called an ophthalmologist to meet Mike for immediate surgery which saved his vision. The ophthalmologist commented several times that he couldn’t believe Dr. Bevil was able to diagnose such a minute tear that a majority of optometrists would have missed. I highly, highly recommend Dr. Bevil for all of your vision needs.

I would recommend Dr. Bevil for his thoroughness in both examining my eyes and explaining everything in an easy to understand way. The attention and time spent with Dr. Bevil was very adequate. The office is very attractive and clean. I felt I got excellent advice in selecting new glasses.
