Joanne Vogel, NP

I have been a patient of Joanne Vogel when she was at Matthew's Vu pain clinic for about 3 or 4 years. She is just amazing. She really listens gives you advice towards treating the the body as a whole whole not just where the pain is. She is very upfront and honest about what needs to be done and if your slacking in doing those things. She has empathy but don't want to hear self pity. She wants you to be very active in your role in your care. I miss her dearly and wish I knew where her new adventures in life have taken her. I am still looking to find a pain management clinic that I can feel comfortable with but she left big shoes to fill lol. Melissa Bamber

Joanne is an excellent pain manager. She understands what it’s like to live with chronic pain and addresses it with not only medication but holistic alternatives. I’ve been seeing Joanne for 4yrs.she has always had my whole body/mind care at the forefront. I would highly recommend Joanne to anyone.

As a cancer patient Joanne V put me on opioids in Feb 2020 escalating doses and meds over the next 9 1/2 mos til surgery 12/1. I asked JV before surgery if I needed to wean off the meds post surgery - no response. After being released from hospital 3 days after surgery, I awoke w/ diarrhea/vomiting-greenish-yellow bile from both ends the following night, delirious, cold sweats, temp of 94.7. Thought I was dying. (Picture someone coming off Heroine cold turkey) In ER and admitted to hospital 4 days to stabilize, diagnosed w/withdrawals. Was chastised by her med asst like it was my fault. JV then tapered me off too fast, belittled my w/d symptoms. Cold sweats, diarrhea, fatigue 3 more mos thru end of taper and worse symptoms 2 more mos after ending, still in withdrawals. She didn't follow recommended protocols for tapering or following up w/me as her patient - left me in severe distress for mos. I couldn't work. Layed on the couch. Inexcusable! Don't go near her! Filed a complaint with the med board. Nice person, terrible at her job!

Joanne Vogel is awesome! She works with all of your doctors to make sure everyone is on the same page with medicines and treatments and constantly recommends alternative treatment options to patients to ensure a comprehensive approach to their pain. She spends minutes of the appointment asking her patients how they are doing and asks about their general health, work, relationships, etc. to make she her patients are experiencing the best possible quality of life. She then discusses all of her patients meds and asks if they are working and if they are causing side effects before asking the same about the pain meds. She doesn’t write a prescription for the same med for every patient and send them on their way but actually takes time to discuss several different options and the pros and cons of each. She also asks patients if they can afford their meds and will discuss cheaper options if needed which is a level of concern for patients that blows me away. I can’t recommend her enough!

I recently joined the pain management clinic and wanted to let Joanne Vogel know how satisfied I am with her care. She is a wonderful provider who took the time to make sure all my pain issues were addressed. She also recommended ways in which my pain could be controlled such as adding a new medication and trying chair yoga! I’m very impressed with the level of care I’m receiving and would highly recommend Ms. Vogel.

Staff are always warm and friendly regardless of how busy they are. Joanne LISTENS and her level in caring and professionalism out ranks all the providers I have had in my life time. I am so fortunate to have been referred to her
