The first thing she said to me was "you should exercise more to lose weight." She didn't ask me how much I exercised. Nor was it clear that I had a weight problem. For the record, I run marathons and do CrossFit - so not sure how I can exercise more. When I told her as such, she suggested I might have PCOS or a thyroid issue (as if a NP is qualified to make a diagnosis). As a high risk breast cancer patient, this made me extremely uncomfortable and upset in a situation where I was already feeling vulnerable. Horrible bed side manner!
