A True Pro.
Dr. Jerome Burt is clearly one of the best in his field. Such wisdom. He holds you accountable and keeps it very real with you, all while showing you respect and truly wanting to make your life better. You don’t have to be in “need of therapy” to benefit from what he can impart.

Not Great
He may be a good fit for a select group of people but for anyone who has a family and (or) needing to address anything existential in any sort of deep way he is not great. He will frequently misinterpret situations, steer the conversation, over talk, minimize emotional experience, interrupt, and unabashedly judge. Too much of himself enters the therapeutic space. More often than not I left a session feeling small, misunderstood, and blown off. Any subject matter that is beyond surface level consciousness is shut down rather quickly.

He was horrinle
Basically after a few visits he called me an overprivileged housewife. I am not. I have had long term depression since childhood. He basically was dismissive of my childhood sexual abuse. Talked more about himself. HORRIBLE. There are much better therapists that aren’t narcissistic out there.

I have met with Dr. Burt for about 7 years, more frequently at the start and now on a "maintenance" type schedule where I meet with him every 3 weeks. I cannot say enough good things about my experiences with Dr. Burt. He has helped me so much by making me aware of the areas of my life in which I need to improve my thoughts and behavior. I would recommend to anyone, in any phase of life, for effective counseling.
