I saw Jennifer Scott for a pre-op physical for an upcoming surgery. I usually don't have great medical experiences as a trans man because people will often use my birth name, even though I have legally updated my name, and refer to me with incorrect pronouns. Unfortunately many health care professionals are uneducated in treating LGBTQ+ patients but that wasn't the case here! Jennifer was respectful, experienced, and never questioned my identity! The way I was treated made me feel safe and comfortable. I truly felt like any other guy! In fact, everyone I talked to at Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic that day was very respectful.
