Before Dr. McDermut, I had tried many therapists but found them all to be the same- extremely one-dimensional with a narrow focus on a diagnosis-checklist. Dr. McDermut, however, could not be further from this description. She gives you just enough guidance to actually achieve lasting improvement in your life. Because she doesn’t direct you, but expertly guides you with a gentle hand, this change is truly authentic and not simply a superficial take-a-deep-breath-and-count-to-ten “solution” (as I’ve seen in the past with other therapists). If you’re looking for a therapist, definitely give her a call.
