Very disappointing. She prescribes medicine. That is all. She doesn't have time to talk to you.......return phone calls.....or adjust meds if they are not working for you.

Dr. Janet, is by far the best psych specialist around this area. She is in the business of diagnosis and med management, she is not a talk therapist, as others have apparently misunderstood. She is amazing at what she does: diagnosis, supportive care, and medication management. If you want forward moving action, Dr. Janet is the way. If you want coddled and to remain where you are, she is not. Her office is extremely busy, so emailing is always an option. I recommend her to everyone!

If you want prescriptions, go to Dr Somlyay. If you need help, please go elsewhere. Diagnosing a PT with a disorder and sending them out the door with no explanation or guidance as well as saying "some people hallucinate when they have bipolar episodes and some people are suicidal. Being suicidal is your thing" is unprofessional and dangerous. In the 9 months I've been a PT the staff has never answered the phone and takes days to return calls if they do at all.

Less a therapist than a pharmacist, this Dr. schedules minimal time to interact with patients and is predominantly interested in prescribing medication. Her attentiveness to patients is painfully insufficient and her office will neglect patient needs. It is very difficult, sometimes impossible, to contact the office. Highly disappointed in this mental health professional.

I think that Dr Somlyay is very easy to work with. When I met with her I felt like she was an old friend. She listens and cares and is very positive. I look forward to my appointments with her.
