Dr. James Kassel, PSY.D

I, along with several friends and acquaintances, have benefited greatly from working with Dr. Kassel. He is hands-down the most kind, compassionate, patient, and effective therapist I have ever seen. He's smart and he knows his stuff. If you're looking for someone who will fearlessly sit with you in the hard things, help you work through the issues in your head and your heart, and patiently walk with you toward healing...this is your guy. He doesn't force, he isn't harsh, and he won't just try to put a band aid on your problems. He gets to the root. I've experienced much healing with him and I highly recommend him. And I love love love that he asks if he can pray for me at the end of every session.

Dr. Kassel is an amazing clinician who truly cares for his patients. He is kind and compassionate, and shows great discernment in helping navigate complex situations. He listens, asks good questions, and provides valuable feedback. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I find Dr. Kassell to be a very sound clinical psychologist. He is able to listen, summarize the challenges provide sound advice to very complex family situations. I hold his counseling in high regards and highly recommended him.

Dr. Kassel presents the persona of being interested in his clients, which I believe he is, yet for what ultimate purpose? As my family was counseled by himself and 2 other counselors in his practice, our family broke down in unspeakable ways! My therapist (I eventually moved outside of Kassel's practice to find my own healing), who personally knew Dr. Kassel, reached out to him multiple times to establish a plan of reconciliation into my broken situation, yet Dr. Kassel chose to not respond. To this day, Dr. Kassel still refuses to meet with me for even one isolated session. In the past 2 months, I have sadly learned that Dr. Kassel is actually not a member of his church, I can now confidently (& sadly) state he does not personally adhere to being a minister of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5). Most alarmingly, I recently learned there is a pending investigation against Dr. Kassel by the KY Board of Examiners of Psychology, and this is not the first he has had opened against him.
