Dr. James Cao, OD

I have been going to Dr Cao at this location for a couple of years.. he does exactly what you need him to do!! He check your eyes, he answers questions, gives you your prescription gets you seen without the long waits .. The receptionist always been so nice and professional.. The office being small in another review had nothing to do with the excellent service he provides .. you’re not going to live in the eye exam room.. you will be there for a short time to get his service and leave . He never overbooks his appointments were it’s crowded.. It’s kind of a thing stupid thing to judge and give a bad review on a size of an office… He is a very professional doctor and he will do exactly what it’s needed for your eye care needs..

Reception and start are unprofessional.

The entire office is the size of a closet. The two waiting chairs are so close to the check in desk that you have to turn sideways to get past a seated person's knees into the exam room. In the age of coronavirus it's impossible to practice social distancing in this tiny space. What's even worse is Cao's office refuses to call insurance after the exam for eligibility adjustments. Eye Med requires the PROVIDER call and will not reimburse payment if the patient makes the call. Cao requires upfront payment while falsely insisting Eye Med will reimburse you as long as you have a receipt, but they won’t! I had an Eye Med rep call Dr. Cao as I waited on the line, to explain what they needed from his office for an eligibility adjustment reimbursement. When she came back to me she said “I think he hung up on me!”

My brother had a bad experience with Dr. Cao at Target Optical in Grand Prairie. The examination was fine, but when the glasses arrived, they were not the correct prescription. The doctor gave us three prescriptions (readers, distance, and one for distance with bifocals). The prescription that my brother received for was readers. The doctor got angry when we went back for a second appointment. He said "Fine!. Don't wear glasses! Return them!" My brother is a disabled person!
