I started seeing her at 15 after my (also teenaged) cousin’s suicide in 2006. I took comfort in seeing her. Her room where I talked with her was the only place I felt safe at that point in my life. I will never forget how much she helped me and how she was the first person who validated me. Helped me gain a lot of courage and inner strength. Was the beginning of my self care...like its very infancy. My parents made fun of me for seeing a psychologist but that was their problem.
