Heather LeClear is everything you don’t want to encounter when you’re scared, sick, and turning to a healthcare professional for help. I came to the Lutheran Downtown ER with a high fever, uncontrollable chills, elevated BP, LUQ pain, and a feeling like I was literally dying. She came into the room with the attitude of someone auditioning for a role as “World’s Most Dismissive Provider.” Her physical exam? If you blinked, you missed it. She placed her stethoscope over my clothing for maybe five seconds—zero palpation, zero listening to anything meaningful. She refused to order even basic labs like a CMP, didn’t take my condition seriously until the COVID test came back positive—then suddenly popped back in with a smug, “good news” attitude like she’d just solved the case. Spoiler: the only thing she diagnosed was her own ego problem. If you’re looking for empathy, thoroughness, or someone who respects patients—Heather LeClear is not the one.
