Since being diagnosed with tounge cancer not being able to eat by mouth anymore changed my life forever. Putting in a peg tube for feeding was something I didn't want,remembering what my father went through, before his death 20+ years ago. Things have changed since then and with Heather's knowledge and sincere care, my outlook is fantastic! My feeding regiment by my peg tube gave me the strength I needed to fight, and survive my disease. Every week she was my shining light, I looked forward to our Wed. afternoon, video conference. She not only made sure my nutritional needs were met ,my meds were on track, but she always made sure I was ok emotionally. Her weekly chat always left me feeling recharged and wanting to make my Doctors, Therapists, and Specalists happy. Heather is an outstanding person who is a great asset to the VA community taking care of all the Veterans with the same care I received. My family and I have a special place in our hearts just for Heather for giving me life
