Dr. Heather Hay, LMFT

We had two court-ordered therapists. High Conflict and a play therapist to help identify DV. Dr. Hay was the play therapist. Hay said nope, we should just use her. I tried but failed to get her to support using the HC therapist. After five sessions - Hay failed to get the child to share reports of domestic violence. The child kept saying after the visits, 'She doesn't ask me anything about it.' She instead diagnosed the child with 'separation anxiety.'Fired her after the 5th session. Reports of violence escalated in the home with the parent attending rehab almost 8 times over the next 8 years. Multiple 911 visits as well.Had Hay followed the custody agreement, so much could have been done. Had the high-conflict therapist been involved, we could have identified the SUD faster and probably saved the child and parent from the trauma.The child and their parent are doing really well now after rehab. SUD and DV are not separation anxiety.
