Dr. Guy Van Syckle Jr, PHD

I’m so sorry to see so many parents/families have been negatively impacted! As many of you, I’m also a concerned parent/dad regarding dr guy practice and can relate with similar and at times identical experiences. Currently pending litigation in Aug on motions to modify and suspect dr guy will be involved as moms expert witness. Please help me! I’m seeking additional information regarding dr guy involvements in past cases. Not asking for anyone’s family history and pry into personal affairs. My daughter has had terrible behaviour for the past 2 years. Her father started therapy with Dr. Van Syckle without my knowledge or consent, this doctor has terrible reviews, is known to give the version the court wants by a parent, specially damaging for children and teenagers in divorce family cases. My daughter feels empowered with his interaction, she has worsen and now she is capable of lying to me, as parent, looking at the eyes with no remorse whatsoever. Her attitude and aggressiveness have also worsen. This therapist should not be allowed to practice. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR COUNSEL OR PARTNER TO IMPOSE THIS THERAPIST ON YOUR FAMILY. Do not let anyone allow your children to behave worse, to damage your relationship by arrogance. Speak up if your family has been damaged by Dr. van Syckle. The relationship with my daughter worsens by the day, this therapist has an agenda with my former husband to take away my custody form my children. STOP DR. VAN SYCKLE!

Dr. Van Syckle was unfortunately recommended by my lawyer in a divorce and child custody case. I paid a lot of money to him up front. He conducted interviews and made his observations, but he never covered important key points. As a result, much later on the day before his written report was due, he called me in a rush on the phone to ask a lot of questions that he realized he had never asked. He based his written report on that brief last minute rushed phone call. The custody arrangement and schedule that he recommended was so impractical and unrealistic that none of us ever followed it. After he wrote his report, he sent me another bill because he said the up front amount I paid wasn’t enough. I truly wish we could have agreed on our own custody arrangements without this guy because he was a waste of time and money. I can honestly say that he took a bad situation and managed to make it worse. I do not recommend him.

A pawn by the legal system, and helped alienate my two children from me. Doesn’t remember what he recommends in “reunification” sessions, but definitely remembers when he is due money. RUN, don’t walk away. (Follow the money trail and you’ll see where his loyalties are….)Time for this psychologist to retire since he causes more harm than he helps. Lotta complaints with the board on him. I know. Believe me I know!!

A lousy doctor. A paid commodity in child custody cases. His billables mean far more to him than the welfare of the child. A pitiful excuse for a child psychologist. Period. He helped to take my son away from me at 14. After I was advised of being an unfit parent, my ex was given sole custody and all communication with my son was cut off. He never spoke to his sister's, nor I, again. Here are all of our family photos until that point. He helped my ex wife to alienate my son from a completely loving and devoted family. My son died last year at age 2O thinking that we did not love him. Thanks Doc! Great Job! Good work! You might want to learn a little bit more about parental alienation. You played the part perfectly ?? My wife, daughter's, and especially myself, thank you for such an impact you made on our lives. FU!!!

Keep looking - there are MUCH better choices.
