Dr. Boms combines the science of audiology with the art of empathy. Persons with hearing deficits have psychological needs unique to that loss, as opposed to vision or other health areas, a fact to which Dr. Boms is keenly attuned. I experienced this directly with myself, but was totally convinced after bringing an elderly relative - a somewhat resistant and anxious woman - for a consultation. Observing Dr. Boms' innate respectful treatment of her, with no hint of condescension, was inspiring.

Dr. Boms, not only is technically the best audiologist that I have ever gone to, she listens to you until she understands your problem, and then she applies her extraordinary skills to your particular difficulty. Her administrative assistant, Susan Valdini, doesn’t just make appointments. On several occasions, she has fixed my bollixed-up hearing aids – not just replacing batteries. She has also saved me thousands of dollars in insurance fees.
