I decided to call in to work and to go to the emergency room. I didn’t even tell my husband because I assumed they would tell me the same thing Gina did. But that feel of doom was so overwhelming I had to just try. I’m so very thankful for the er physician who took my symptoms very seriously, turns out I had multiple large blood clots in my right lung as well as in my intestines. I was transferred to bigger hospital ICU where I was for over a week. I was right. I could’ve dropped dead at any moment. I’m one of the lucky ones because I listened to my body and advocated for myself. The feeling of “impending doom” is a very common symptom of pulmonary embolisms, among other things and according to many physicians is a symptom that should be taken very seriously. I believe my history of post partum anxiety is why my symptoms weren’t taken seriously. This is very common with women, especially mothers. I hope Gina sees this and learns from it. It’s taken me over 3 years to leave this review
