Dr. Gary Schneider, PHD

I saw Dr. Schnieder for individual therapy and found his advice to be very clear, helpful, and focused. He helped me determine the root causes of the behavior patterns I was concerned about in my marriage and to identify and define the types of boundaries that I wanted to set. Interestingly, once I agreed that my initial reasons for seeing him were addressed, he recommended that I take some time to determine whether I wanted to continue with counseling sessions and to call back if I decided to do so. I really appreciate that he didn't try to drag out the session just for the sake of it!

Dr. Schneider doesn't understand the first thing about people. How he got in this line of work is a mystery to me. During marriage counseling my wife said, sharply, "you need therapy". I told her that her comment was an insult and not helpful. Dr. Schneider intervened on her behalf. He said it wasn't an insult. Really, Dr. Schneider? If I go tell my friends they need therapy how might they take it? Probably something like, "its been nice knowing you." My wife now thinks its OK to say.

Dr. Schneider was aggressive and confrontational. Very unpleasant and not helpful at all. Found another therapist who was much much better.
