Dr. Garrett Gilchrist, PHD

I had a great relationship with Dr. Gilchrist over the course of about 2 - 3 years. He is very empathetic, willing to share small bits of his own life experience as a way of contexualizing my own experience. This made for a relationship where we could laugh about things while at the same time move forward in terms of my own mental health. Something I found especially useful was that he simultaneously addressed both the functional areas -- how to structure my day, get things done -- and the emotional health areas -- how I think about myself and breaking down those narratives. As I look at other therapists, it seems like they are good at handling one or the other, often not both. By tackling both of these issues, Dr. Gilchrist helped me find more wholeness in my work and home experiences.
