He met with us initially together, said we'd have separate appointments then he'd bring us together again (he never did). During our first appointment, he'd asked us a question, I responded to my side of view but my husband didn't and there was this seriously awkward silence. Then Gaaren asks me "so, you always just go ahead and speak for him too?" As if he was judging me! After this, it was clear his focus wasn't on fixing or repairing our relationship it was driving us further apart. I felt judged at every appointment and felt he was incapable of seeing anything but his preconceived notions. I've been to therapy a few times in my life, this guy... is the worst.

I do not recommend this 'therapist.' He seems to have a set program he discusses with all couples, and just runs through scenarios (first meeting is 'Communication'), which doesn't help get through a problem that is actually happening. He didn't remember that he had met with us previously, and started running through the same rehearsed program he did before. If you have a problem you need to take care of, or something you want to talk about - do not go here. He will not talk you through any issues, just give you some weird scenario to run through. He also ate something off his finger one time we were there - which was odd and gross. The office is a little sketchy to go into - the couch makes me feel like I need a shower after.
