Referral to her made my life worse
Telehealth
I was referred to her and I went into it open minded and followed doctor recommendations. Her stance was rude and negative . She did not listen to me and was incredibly condescending. She makes her own biased opinions before she ever meets you. See someone else if you need help. After reading other reviews, my experience was a common one. And it’s very sad that such a prestigious hospital employs and refers to a doctor like this.

Unhelpful, Disrespectful, Rude and a Con
Telehealth
I went to see Ms Cotton who I was referred to for a neurological condition I was experiencing after having a bad MRSA infection. I saw her four times, she did nothing helpful or different each session. One session my insurance isn’t covering she claims was some special evaluation. The only relief I got for my condition came from a sleep doctor and not her. On top of this she had a miscommunication with my psychologist and repeatedly called me a pathological liar. She would not believe me. She was so smug. I talked to my psychologist about this and cleared up the misunderstanding and wrote to Ms Cotton, I won’t call her a doctor, and she never once apologized for rudely calling me a liar. Stay far away…how she works for a prestigious hospital is beyond me.

Cold and Rude
If you want to improve your quality of life, see someone else. Seeing her did not help but made things worse. I cannot understand how this person is working in the mental health field.

Her approach to therapy with patients is strange. She’s really boring and weird. No personality. Very rude.

Awful
I know what quality care is and trust me, this woman does not have the ability to provide excellent care for patients. She is inexperienced and untrustworthy. Meeting with Dr Cotton was the worst experience ever. She has an odd personality and will make you feel worse about yourself. She should not be working in mental health.Do yourself a favor and never schedule an appointment with her. Save yourself some money before you regret it.

Didn't get it right - Now I'm on hospice
In 2018, my wife raised concerns with my psychiatrist that I had a neurological condition and asked for a neuropsychological evaluation. I was referred to Northwestern Medicine and Dr. Sieg Cotton performed my test in January 2019. The facility was not prepared for my visit and lost my records. Then my wife was interviewed and the Dr. dismissed her concerns and said that my wife just wanted me to die from a brain disease! Dr Cotton was pretty smug that my wife's concerns were just due to prior mental illness and sent me to a local neurologist in my area for further testing. Her report misled the neurologist and I was misdiagnosed for the following three years, until I met another neurologist who finally diagnosed me with a rare neurodegenerative disease in March 2022, called Multiple System Atrophy with Cerebellar Ataxia. Now I really am dying of a brain disease and I'm currently a home hospice patient. Doctors don't always get it right; please see another psychologist if you need help
