Dismissive of Women’s Health
I came as an emergent patient to the Novant Health Emergency room in Salisbury, NC, in August of 2020. Eric Komar was the PA on my case. I appeared with extreme abdominal pain near my right ovary. Eric Komar dismissed me and my complaints of abdominal pain and even went as far as bringing me ‘Rehab for Drug/Opiate Addiction’ pamphlets and told me he thought I was just drug seeking and “lying about my pain because my ultrasound and CT came back normal.”A year later in 2021 I had an OBGYN perform a MRI on me which determined possible endometriosis.In May of 2022 I was given a total hysterectomy which concluded with being an oopherectomy because once the OB Surgeon was inside they saw severe endometriosis and endosalpingosison my right ovary.It is sick and disgusting that I went into an ER for horrific abdominal pain and just because Eric Komar could not see the endometriosis and endosalpingosis under their scans that I was dismissed and accused of drug seeking.
