Disastrous. I will speak only for our experience. In hindsight If I wanted to save our marriage I would have RUN! The aftermath of seeing this man calling himself a “Christian Counselor” was devastating. In our case he picked “sides” and enabled my spouse (who was diagnosed w/ narcissistic personality disorder) to justify alienating our children! In private meetings he would interject his opinion as to whether to leave - or stay vs no more secrecy in a marriage complicated by sexual addiction/ affairs/ and a secret life for years.

My wife told me if I cared about our marriage I'd set up an appointment with her so called Christian marriage counselor ,she had already had five or six sessions with out me . My first encounter with Mr. Fox was waiting outside of his office and hearing him say to a woman in a slightly angry tone "that's a hell of a decision to make " , I should have left then and there, I asked him about the comment that I heard and don't remember his comments. I had an "proverbs 31 wife " before, after several counseling sessions before and with me she turned into someone I nor my family had known , married for several decades. My wife told me at a session in front of Mr. Fox , that she never loved me , doesn't like me and doesn't want to be with me, I was shocked ,thought after being coached by Mr. Fox that he Patted himself on his back ! She turned into a person who cussed , angry, no intimacy ,family was tearing apart, GOD's grace our family is still together, no more counselors ever !!

Because of Doug Fox I feel liberated and I have more insight into my world as well as to the world of others. He tells it like it is in a professional and straight forward-way.

Each week we visited Doug for marriage counseling, we left in much worse shape than we came in with. It would take days for us to recover enough to be on speaking terms as husband and wife. After a month of this pattern, we explained to Doug what was happening. He admitted to 'stirring the pot' to see what would happen and apologized for not respecting our boundaries. That is the last time we saw him. That is NOT counseling.
