Dorene Fick, LCSW-R

Dorene is a compassionate and skilled therapist, specializing in many different mental health issues. Her dedication to her clients and ability to build rapport and genuine trust surpasses any therapist I have experienced. She makes every effort to meet the client where they are in their healing process and rolls with the natural resistance that arises when working on difficult issues. She is an active and direct therapist who practice trauma informed care-a hard balance to find in a therapist in this area. She is highly skilled in working with clients who suffer from PTSD. I have recommended her to many people, including other mental health professionals, and they have found her to be highly effective as well.

This post is of my personal experience with Dorene Fick. This provider does not listen, even when you do everything possible to get her to listen to you. She is not skilled in treating at least half of the issues she lists as her areas of expertise , and when progress is not being made, she blames the client instead of her own inadequacy and will basically quit , give up and leave you hanging without care. She is assuming, constantly looking at her phone unless you call her out on it, all while giving appearance of listening. She will play whatever role necessary to secure your trust, then betray it if it serves her purpose without remorse. I'd look elsewhere if you need real help and have had enough pain in your life, unless you have some minor issue that doesn't require hard work and unwavering committtment associated with Trauma or PTSD, as this counselor will add to your wounds not lessen them. Can't say you weren't warned. Good luck.
