Desiree Matthews, PMHNP

I have been seeing psychiatrists for the past 15 years and I can honestly say that Dr. Matthews is the best doctor I've ever had. Not only is she clearly dedicated to her feild of work with the patients that she serves, she also goes above & beyond with responding to time sensitive questions and concerns. Dr. Matthews is the most compassionate and responsive psychiatrist I’ve ever had. To my surprise, she waived my copays due to the financial hardship I faced shortly after relocating to NC. Her care and understanding have truly set her apart, and I hope others find this information helpful in choosing the right psychiatrist!

Desiree is a kind soul who really cares about people. I had come in with a list of meds that gave me side effects or did not work. She did not think I was making it up like other doctors, listened and worked hard to find medication and supplements that helped me get control of my depression and panic attacks. I have been able to go to work and school again. I am even losing weight from getting off the old drugs I was on. She is the best and she is easy to see on video chat and I don't have to miss work to drive to the office.
