I have to agree with the other reviewer. Compared to the counseling I received prior to seeing Debra, I was really glad to receive constant feedback during our sessions. Prior to that my therapist only smile and nodded and said nothing. With Debra she really engages in the conversation and helps me feel heard. She is good at detailing what I’ve told her and tieing things back in from what I’ve told her in the past. Yes, sometimes she will say something you might not want to hear, but you appreciate her honesty and that is really part of the healing process. To break the narrative and start to change and shift your thinking patterns. I look forward to our sessions and value her very much. She is wonderful and very real, and that’s what I love best about her.

I would not recommend Debra. Things started off well, and I thought she was great at first. Over time, however, I noticed several issues. Her choice of words at times is unprofessional and damaging. For example, when she said something and later forgot it, I reminded her of what she had said to me, and her response was, "You heard what you wanted to hear." Very unprofessional and untrue. Even if she thought that in essence, there is a better choice of words to convey that thought. She's very disorganized. She wouldn't give me any appointment cards and would later get the dates of appointments wrong. This happened multiple times. I asked her to give me something in writing when an appointment is made, and that simple request was met with resistance. I then said that every other professional I see gives me an appointment card or sheet, and she then said that I was being aggressive and saying she's not professional. She took the noun "professional" and read it as an adjective. Very defe

Debra listens attentively and makes good recommendations for the situation. She is helpful, while challenging me to make the changes I need. She is interested in learning how I feel and think in a situation, and she makes suggestions in a way that I understand and can implement. I can trust that she will be honest with me, even when it's something I might not want to hear. Her many years of experience gives her the knowledge to tailor recommendations to my needs, which gives me confidence to do the work. I definitely recommend Debra.
