Talks down to you makes you feel uncomfortable. Won’t listen tells you you are wrong.

As we started our first (and only) virtual visit, I was adjusting the computer since I couldn't see myself until the visit actually started. After introducing herself, the first thing she curtly said was, "Please stop moving your computer." I explained I was just putting a pillow under it to adjust the view. She didn't look at me during our conversation. I didn't know if she was really even listening. After I finished, she explained she only handles sleep apnea and didn't know why they sent me to her. She said it's probably because the referral from my doctor didn't say "insomnia." I said that was strange and held up the referral and said it says "insomnia" right here. She said, "I'm not going to argue with you about this." I thought that was so strange for her to say because I wasn't being combative at all and wasn't blaming her for the mistake. Because of health issues I have to go to a multitude of doctors. This is the rudest practitioner I've ever been to.

I have never had such a horrible visit with a medical “professional”. First visit went well, scheduled a follow up to go over results, and she seemed irritated the whole time. Didn’t even greet me or my spouse in the follow up, but told us (tersely) she was busy with other patients and when I expressed concern over a lack of resolution on my sleep issues she snapped “What do you expect ME to do about it?” She had no clue what a Sleep Hygiene Index (SHI) was, denied sleeplessness being linked to one of my health conditions (even though it is widely documented in the medical world that it is.), said there were no pills that helped with sleep (???), and had no further solutions for me. I was a little shocked at how dismissive, unhelpful, and uninformed she was. A little ironic for a Dr with the last name of Mercy.
