Darci Dellwardt, PA-C

I had a very similar negative experience with Darci Dellwardt, PA-C during my recent appointment. The visit was rushed, lacked thorough examination, and her bedside manner was dismissive and unprofessional. She barely listened to my concerns, rapid-fired questions without allowing me to answer fully, and seemed to have little interest in actually diagnosing my issues. Like the other reviews, I felt that she was operating on a strict time agenda rather than focusing on patient care.As a veteran who has been dealing with ongoing medical issues since 2011, after 21 years of service, I found her dismissive attitude particularly frustrating. When I tried to slow things down and ensure I was being heard, I was met with resistance and indifference. Her physical examination was shockingly brief—she only checked one side of my body despite me explaining that my pain was worse on the other. The entire appointment lasted less than 10 minutes.

Had a phone interview for a C&P exam for asthma. Even though I had a PFT on record that listed asthma and a chest X Ray that listed asthma I was denied for service connect asthma after my C&P Exam with Ms. Dellwardt

Visited for a VA exam. She used the DBQs and asked follow-up questions for clarification where needed. She was thorough and respectful and explained the VES and VA exam next steps.

Went to her for a contract VA C&P exam for a knee disability claim. She is a GP PA and has no surgical and little diagnostic expertise with knees. I had a 5 cursory minute visit, she asked a couple of questions and sent me packing. Clearly she had a time agenda and other patients to see. Curiously she later provided the VA with a complete DBQ that normally takes about an hour to complete, when done correctly and thoroughly. I know because I had one of these before. I was incensed when I read her report to the VA. Her DBQ was incredibly inaccurate, rife with misstatements, mis-conclusions, contrivances and incompleteness- 100's of errors. If you have no choice but to go to her, insist that you record your entire visit. Save it for later review and your appeal, if doing a disability exam. If she refuses, leave and call the VA. . My claim was of course denied and is in appeal. She was perhaps the most dis-ingenious and standoff-ish medical professional I have ever encountered.

I visited Ms Dellwardt for the first time yesterday. Was a little concerned as it as a mobile unit next to Flying J's in Carlisle. But I have to say, it was too easy, I showed up 15 minutes early and she go me in 10 minutes early. She asked all the questions and made solid recommendations, more importantly I felt like she cared.
