I have been seeing Demaris for 5 years for chronic depression and anxiety. She's the only one who went above and beyond to find a medication that was effective in treating me. She not only prescribes but treats, meaning she listens and discusses my concerns. She is very compassionate and resourceful. She is effective in leading with a firm yet kind nature. I can't say enough good about her. I would highly recommend her to anyone with a mental health problem. Being a nurse first, she is very knowledgable about illness outside mental health, but has a strong background in mental health, therefore is more qualified (IMHO) than someone who is not of that wide of a background. This has been very helpful in my case. Her ability to prescribe is very beneficial, as she treats the whole person.

Damaris is wonderful! Very knowledgeable with medications and explaining how they work. Very supportive and encouraging. I'm afraid of where we would be without her. We are so very thankful for her!

Damaris provides an excellent balance of clinical nursing with mental health counseling drawing from many traditions and tailoring her approach to individual need. She is very trustworthy, very good bedside manner, explains things thoroughly, answers questions, time is very well spent, scheduling is excellent, office environment is professional and comfortable.
