It's like a mental health partnership.
Cynthia is warm, attentive, kind, patient, and compassionate ... all the time. Seriously. The world is a scary place, and sometimes I just want to vent about what has happened, or what is happening, or what may happen next, and she's OK with that. Other times, I need her advice for something that has just come up in my job or in my personal relationships (usually both), and I can always count on her to drill down for all the background information before she makes observations or offers me any summary statements. In our weekly sessions, we can pick up where we left off, or review my progress on a nagging issue, or explore a new topic, or simply reflect upon the state of the planet. Cynthia is really flexible that way, and I always feel as though my moods and my concerns and my feelings matter. This has become a mental health partnership. Does that make sense?

Fabulous therapist
Cynthia is a caring & knowledgeable practitioner. She delivers suggestions in a non-judge-mental way, she listens carefully & picks up on the subtleties & nuances of descriptions given. Cynthia helps you to come to your decisions without clearly telling you what to do. She helps you make decisions with information about what you can expect from your family members & how you can improve your environment with your actions & reactions. All interactions are infused with empathy. I have recommended her to several friends who concur with above description. Would definitely highly recommend.

Do not waste your time.
I saw this therapist for over 2 years. She began seeing me individually and then invited my spouse to sessions. She decided the next route would be to become our marital therapist. Cynthia assisted my husband in gaslighting, lying and manipulating me. She believed my husband could not have an affair, even though I brought in red flag evidence. Cynthia made me out to be jealous. She allowed verbal abusive during sessions. It was not until I saw a new therapist, experienced in marital counseling, did I really receive help. Cynthia crossed boundaries switching from individual counseling to marital counseling, gaslighting and misdiagnosis.

I found Cynthia Cassidy at a time when no psychiatrist in my network was available to see me. Initially, I thought I needed prescription medications in order to cope with my depression and my job anxiety, so I was not actually looking for a therapist. Based upon my prior experiences with psychiatrists and psychologists, I assumed that I would be doing most of the talking, and I assumed that I wouldn't receive much in the way of feedback or useful guidance. However, after a few "getting to know you" sessions with Cynthia, I realized that we were actually having a balanced, interactive dialogue every time we met. This was not something I had experienced with anyone in mental health before, but it was just what I needed, and together we have figured out how to manage my issues without medications.
