Dr. Charlotte Szabo, DNP

This last four (4) years [since my Oct. 2020 diagnosis] has felt like "getting my Master's in Bipolar Disorder", and I don't know that I would be alive today if it weren't for having Charlotte on my Care Team. I have been working with her for years and she is the best psychiatrist I ever had. Would not switch until she retires.

I needed a new psychiatrist because mine retired. Wish I would’ve found someone else. She said she was happy to provide continuity of care and then tried changing my entire medication regimen that had been working well for years. When I said I wasn’t comfortable she fired me as a patient. She also claimed once to have had a psychic feeling about me which I felt was really unprofessional and strange especially for someone working with people with MH issues.

Dr. Szabo has helped me so much when I was in a dark place. She is empathetic and caring; and one of the first and only psychiatrists I can trust.

I was in a crisis, and she invalidated my experience because someone else was being admitted to the hospital after my appointment with her. So she rushed through it not focused on me at all. I was left to figure it out. Which I didn't. I attempted a week later. She sees my S/O which I stated would be a conflict of interest. She said she prefers seeing whole family groups to better see the whole picture. That's fine, but you are biased toward them and asked about them during my appointments. She invalidates my S/O by calling their feelings "silly" while expressing trauma issues. I told her the drugs she wanted to put me on made me sick previously a weren't effective. She prescribed them anyway. I got sick and had horrible side effects from them like I told her I would. She didn't do anything to help. She wouldn't even Rx anti nausea meds because "it's not my scope of practice." if your psych meds make me sick, It is your scope of practice. Please go elsewhere.

Beware This Dr. Dump patients. I called the office and told them I was dying because I have cancer and a heart condition due to medical mistakes. I asked if she would be willing to consult with my therapist. so I would not have make a four hour bus trip. They terminated my services without talking to me. Heartless and Callous. I am medicated compliant and am left without a doctor. I have cancelled two appointments in 8 months. due to cancer appointments. This dr. is heartless.
