Dr. Chandni Vashee, MD

Unfortunately, due to very complex and long-standing medical issues, I am frequently hospitalized and saw Dr. Vashee as an inpatient doc on 2 occasions. It was abundantly clear she had no interest in working with either myself nor my specialty team, even changing medication orders without their knowledge (she verbalized her opinion that several were unwarranted for my conditions & also dismissed any mention of pain as “not an issue”). While I sincerely made an attempt to hear her thoughts & collaborate, I was upset when she callously presented her treatment plan: discharge & psychiatric services. She went so far as to compare my status to other patients’, predict imaging outcomes before performed, & dismiss all my questions & concerns. I found myself crying & my husband came to the hospital to assist me in advocating for a new care team (she was promptly removed). At the very least, even if we disagreed, she could have treated me with the respect all humans & patients deserve.
