She is a miracle worker
I've been working with her for about 3 years for my ADHD, and she really has helped me so much. Every appointment has been great because she genuinely cares and makes it very easy to drop my guard and say what I want/need to say. Moreover, my experience has been so good with her that I eventually gained the confidence to find someone who can help me with my childhood trauma, and now I am much happier and more productive today thanks to her.

Excellent experience
I was referred to Dr. Colson and am so glad I was. She has been helpful in working with me find the tools to manage my anxiety, and in a respectful, empathetic manner. She is a mom and definitely understands that life throws everyone curveballs-and that it is important to look after ourselves in order to deal with them effectively.

Oddest experience I've had in a mental health care setting. At first things were fine and she seemed inexperienced but adequate. Then I began noting some rather odd, unprofessional behavior. Due to my many previous positive experiences with health care professionals , I felt comfortable giving honest feedback. However, when I politely questioned some of the things she said that I found confusing and strange, she became extremely defensive and took it highly personal. The final straw for me came when she accused me out of the blue of taking medication that she had not prescribed when literally, she had written me the prescription the month previous. She also said that I told her that she had caused me extreme emotional harm and distress. I know I never said anything close to that, as even after all this, I still do not feel that way. I then realized that she was confusing me with another patient. It was so bizarre. Truly concerned how she could affect someone younger and more vulnerable

I've been seeing her for about a year now and I absolutely love my sessions. She is personable and relatable. She actively listens and asks questions. She genuinely cares about her patients and wants to help. Celia is also straightforward. She doesn't want you to stay where you are. So if you are looking to just cry and never improve you may feel "unheard." She offers no judgement but so much advice to keep on improving.

My appointment with Dr. Colson was great. She was extremely personable, empathetic, and really connected with me on a deep level. She is a very sweet and nice person. Within minutes of meeting her, I felt like we were old friends. She is extremely professional and knowledgeable and was able to relate to the things I was dealing with in a holistic as well as an allopathic framework. I could tell she had personal experience with the issues I was dealing with and was able to shed light on my situation from an outside and unbiased perspective. She also gave me some great book recommendations for me and my family. Overall, I think our appointment was extremely productive and enjoyable. I have already scheduled more appointments with her and plan on seeing her in the future if I need psychiatric therapy or counseling for anything else. I highly recommend her!

Encouraged to leave this based on the other review being just as concerning and validating of exactly my experience as well. Colson has a DNP which is unique to Florida and essentially a nurse with slightly more schooling. She is not an MD, psychiatrist, and outside of Florida could not elect to use the prefix of "Dr.". More concerned with maintaining her reputation than the actual well being of the patient do not expect to be or feel heard much less deemed credible to her. I also feel bullied and controlled and dread my sessions with her. The breaking point came when she began to suggest and speak highly of literature that is favored by pseudoscience and self-help cults. Asking her to stop at certain points where she would cite platitudes as a means to dismiss my legit concerns I officially had a medical professional cause significant emotional distress to me. This woman should not be in a position so impactful to a person's well being. (original comment heavily edited for length)

I feel Ms. Colson lacks the ability/inclination to actually *listen*, also in my experience she was grossly deficient in empathy. I'm sure she was a stellar student, but in practice, she was a bit of a control freak/bully. I dreaded my sessions with her, and left-each and every time-feeling far worse than before.
