She hit the ground running and rapid-fired questions at me, typing furiously all the while. At the end of my first session she probably had a pretty good sense of who I was and what I was dealing with. I got some valuable truth nuggets from her. By the end of the third session she was repeating herself, forgetting things I had just told her, fixating on irrelevant details, inventing aspects of my situation that weren't true, interrupting me, and dictating long conversations I was supposed to have with others based on her imaginary scenarios. I felt like I had received what I needed from her and canceled my next appointment. As long as you aren't too sensitive and are primarily interested in a different perspective on your situation, she may be of help to you.

Carolyn Heninger is quite possibly the most as-sumptuous, pretentious, narcissistic therapists I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. She would consistently misunderstand things I would say, argue with me during sessions, interrupt me while I was talking, blatantly state her personal views during sessions and verbally attack me if I didn't agree or tried to explain myself. I do not know how she got her license, but I would avoid seeing her at all costs. It is not worth the time, emotional stress, or the money to see her. I am currently looking to report her to the board. The therapist I have been seeing since her has been wonderful, however, I do not believe Carolyn is emotionally or intellectually inept enough to even possible consider taking on patients at this time. For your own sense of well being. Please, do not consider Carolyn.

Truly terrible visit. Made snap judgements about my situation before even hearing the entire story. Cut me off several times. She displayed truly terrible manners for anyone- let alone a trained therapist!

Very tough. Tells you what you don't probably wish to hear. Over the years I must have seen seven therapists. The two best have been incredibly blunt. One star reviews are likely people that did not wish to hear bad things about their personalities. One review says "no empathy". That likely lacks insight into advice/ directions she gave. Carolyn does empathise, but it might not seem that way from directions she gives.

Doesn't even try to listen.

No empathy. I had felt judged... She'd asked me about my school experiences and I'd told her I was bullied in school. She asked what about and I told her several things. I told her I was bullied for my "big chin" and she asks "well, do you have a big chin?". She also called me co-dependent because I remain friends with my ex?

Would give a Zero star if I could. She was the worst. Laughed when I talked about traumatic things. Even though I said I was from a different state, she still said "thank you for coming to the country."

I had read other reviews online about how awful this place was, but I just figured they were overreacting. I was so wrong. I went in for post partum depression and anxiety. I saw Carolyn Heninger and like the rest of the reviews about her, she is rude, does not listen, and says things that really take a stab at your heart. She judged mine and my husbands marriage because I'm so young and everytime I tried to defend myself, she would say "it's because you were molested as a child" Do not see her.

Carolyn made me feel super bad about myself (cool counselors are supposed to help you). I found myself lying to her about my issues because she made me feel judged and bad about my problems. She is narrow minded and unless you're LDS I wouldn't even bother seeing her. I was weary to start counseling again to begin with and this has been the worst experience ever. Not only did she make me feel bad she was very unprofessional and the office staff she worked with was rude and impolite.

Don't see Carolyn if you are not LDS. She is very judgmental and victim blames. She is a cold therapist who does not validate your feelings. She does not connect with millennials and does not keep up to date with evidence based practices. She is old school and does not listen to her patients, instead she interrupts and asks you to repeat yourself because she just does not listen. Worst therapy experience I have ever had.
