Carolina Baldner

Carolina counseled my 11-year old daughter for 2 years on and off. Three weeks ago, during a session where my daughter decided to stop sharing, she concluded that my child's 'emotional deregulation,' as she put it, was out of her scope. She ended the session erratically, telling my child that she could not council her anymore because she was not using the 'tools' she was giving her. She did not offer an option for a smooth 'transition' to a new therapist, nor did she have any referral to give us. Since then, my daughter went into a spiral of depression (which she had no previous history of) for which she is being prescribed antidepressants. When her new psychiatrist asked her what was causing her to feel depressed, she said it started after her last session with Carolina, where she felt a sense of hopelessness - 'I thought that I am so messed up that even a therapist cannot help me,,' she cried, and 'I just gave up.' Words cannot describe the pain I felt at that moment.

I have to be totally disagree with the review above. My personal and family experience with Carolina has been amazing. I started looking for help for my youngest daughter, and right now, all my family members, including my teen-ager (14 years) and husband have come to therapy as family and individually and they all love her!!! She has helped us so much to work together as a family, so I have nothing but greats things to said about Carolina!!!! If you are doubting. Don't!!! You will not regret it!!! You will love her!!!!!

Ms. Baldner suggested that I attend a session with my daughter, whom I have been alienated from, even though Ms. Baldner has no experience with reunification therapy. My daughter attended and berated me throughout the time we spent in session. Ms. Baldner suggested that I simply allow my daughter to say what she had to say and accept it, even though it was a distorted reality. I did what was asked of me, and that was the last time I saw my daughter in any therapy. Ms. Baldner dabbled where she shouldn't have, and she made things exponentially worse. Shen then canceled a follow-up session with me and has never kept in contact with me like she said she would. I would not trust this individual with the mental health of a child or adult, please beware.
