I scheduled time with Dr. Lachman, which I was looking forward to. I recently traveled to Spain and had a cold at the time of my call (it's winter), and Dr. Lachman asked me if I recently traveled to China. I thought this was strange, but tol her I did not. She told me she'll meet with me, but if I'm not feeling better, to call and cancel because "you just can't be too safe these days." On Sunday, I received a voicemail from her stating that "she just doesn't feel comfortable seeing me" because I've traveled and she hopes I feel better, but she can't risk seeing me since she works with children. As someone who is supposed to be helping others, I found it pretty troubling that Dr. Lachman would go ahead and make assumptions about the state of my health, insinuating that I could potentially have Coronavirus. I feel fine, but I will not see her. Not a great first impression and frankly, I feel uncomfortable seeing someone who judges so strongly based off of one phone call and a cough.
