Carla Kuhl, LCSW

I worked with Carla a few years ago now and I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to do the hard work it takes to heal. She was exactly what I needed in that time of my life. From learning my childhood experiences fell under that category or trauma to learning techniques to handle my severe panic attacks, anxiety, and depression. I use a lot of these techniques in my day to day life. Carla has really changed my life for the better. If you are looking for someone who will work with you, dive deep, and give you 'homework' in-between sessions then Carla is the person for you.

I saw Carla for the better part of 5 months. After a couple of months of seeing her and I had several troubling interactions with her as my therapist. For example, during a session she wanted me to give names to the different ages I was when I experienced trauma, as if they were persons. When I objected and asked why, she replied it would be easier for me to talk about them. I explained I brought them up, I don't have a problem talking about them and I don't feel I need to give them names as if they are persons. After this session, I noticed several more disturbing signs. I questioned what she said to me during another session and told her it was hurtful and her apology to me was "I'm sorry you took what I said that way." I told her it's not how I 'took it' its what she said. It turned into an argument with her and she kept saying it's not what she meant. I was dumbfounded. I stopped the sessions and now trying to get the medical record has been another "gaslighting" experience.
