In addition to her technical acumen, she's also a pleasure to work with and a wonderful human being. I had an extremely disappointing experience with Ms Burgess. Her arrogance was apparent from the start—she approached the case with a self-assured attitude but showed little real understanding or concern for the complexities involved. Rather than listening objectively and addressing key issues, she dismissed valid concerns with a complacent, almost indifferent demeanor. Instead of facilitating a fair and child-focused process, she seemed more interested in maintaining her own sense of authority, often disregarding critical information that didn’t align with their predetermined viewpoint. Her lack of diligence and unwillingness to engage thoughtfully ultimately made the situation worse rather than better. If you’re looking for a professional who genuinely prioritizes the well-being of the child and takes the time to evaluate a case fairly, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Caitlin Burgess is highly competent and professional, with abundant experience not only as a licensed marriage and family therapist, but as a practicing family law attorney as well. Her integrity is unmatched in both fields, and Caitlin is licensed to practice as a therapist in five separate states (California, Colorado, Washington, Texas, and Florida)! Many clients and attorneys have sought out her consultation and expertise, especially in matters involving complicated child custody disputes and cases centered around children, given her unique niche and skill set. As a licensed marriage and family therapist myself, I have benefited greatly from her consultation and legal and ethical advice on complex family therapy cases. As a trusted colleague and confidant, I would happily refer anyone (families, adult individuals, adolescents, and children) to her care.

Avoid Caitlin Burgess at all costs. Choosing her was the biggest mistake we ever made. If you care about your child’s well-being, find someone else.

We were extremely disappointed with the services we received from Caitlin Burgess. We went in with high hopes that this therapist could provide the support and guidance needed, but unfortunately, our experience was quite the opposite. Communication was poor. Instead of helping our child feel understood and comfortable, it often felt like we were just another number on her list. I was also concerned by the lack of professional boundaries and the dismissive approach toward our child’s needs. Rather than building trust, the sessions seemed to set us back. I would not recommend this therapist to anyone seeking thoughtful and effective care for their child.

If we could give her no zero stars, we would. It is hard to believe that someone in this profession could be so incompetent and unprofessional. Stay away if you want to want your children with someone who cares.

I can only make positive comments about Caitlin Burgess's approach to counseling and therapy, particularly in family court matters. She's extremely professional and passionate about her work and helping people heal and transform their lives. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Caitlin to anyone, especially when it comes to Family Court matters pertaining to child custody, and complex issues surrounding trauma and neglect.

We switched provider due to Caitlin being consistently late, uncaring and unprofessional.

Caitlin is an incredible therapist who has an uncanny ability to cut to the chase, get to the root cause of issues, and say exactly what you need to hear to figure out complex things about yourself. But more than this, she's professional, courteous, and a pleasure to know and work with. I wholeheartedly recommend Caitlin to anyone who's looking to overcome emotional, behavioral, or relationship issues, or who's just looking for greater personal understanding and growth.

We thought that individuals in this profession are compassionate and good listeners. But our experience with Caitlin a just the opposite. She was rude, unprofessional and the quality of her work was sub par. She was mean with our teen children who didn’t like to work with her. The report she created was filled with errors. I would give her zero stars.
