Dr. Atkinson is amazing! He has helped me so much! He listens and offers solid advice to overcome my issues. He helps me thrive even though I have struggled with bipolar disorder for 13 years. I have tried other therapists, but they acted like they were just in it for the money. Dr. Atkinson truly cares about his patients.

I have to agree w/the other 1-star ratings for him. He may try treating people (as seen in a few of these ratings), but when I was sent to him it wasn't for treatment but for evaluation to see if I was "malingering" on a medical claim. Just like the 2015 review, I never even met him, was just given a test to take. The results (computerized?) showed “NO malingering”, yet this quack wrote his “opinion” was that I was “cynical enough to try to take advantage” – I guess of my insurance company.

The counsel my husband and I have received from Dr. Atkinson has been instrumental in helping us through some turbulent times as a blended family. I think my husband likes that Dr. Atkinson is direct and to the point, and I appreciate that he is a good listener. He has been married for many, many years and is also a father so he is able to share his own stories of personal growth with us. We learn something insightful at every visit and always leave his office with goals to pursue together.

He is very personable and down to earth. He listens and provides feedback, but is never critical or judgemental . I feel comfortable talking to him and I really feel I am progressing.

Almost felt badly postin this negative, but when I remembr what he did,I have 2 warn othrs abt him.He seems nice & caring...He's not. It's an act.Depndng on Ur reason 4 goin, he'll eithr do a legit eval. & trtmnt plan.BUT, if U've been sent 2 him by an authority who's aiming 2 keep U from recving needed treatment (like workers' comp), he'll kiss up 2 them & write outrageous garbge unrelated 2 who U rly are.Dsn't matter if the test scores say otherwise. He's in W.C.'s pocket, willin 2 lie 4 $$

I was sent to him for evaluation by MMPI-2, but he never met with me or spoke with me. His receptionist gave out the test, then collected it and he wrote a report based on running it through a computer scoring program. Then he added several statements of his own that had no bearing on the scores.
