I arrived by EMS in the afternoon after being transported by EMS from a motor vehicle accident. I'm a nurse but then I was a patient. My car was totaled. Called for scans and was wheeled back to the waiting room (which I understand). I had never been given an as ordered. She told me "Everything looks fine, great news, use ice and alternate with heat, I sent in a script for muscle relaxants". I asked if I would get a discharge summary and acetometaphine ordered at triage. She assured me I would. Two hours later and three requests later and one missed cab ride home, I had to take the 2nd cab home. My care left me with nothing to go by once I left. I still do not have a summary and called 6 departments, signed a release, and sent it to TN as asked. Still waiting since June 28. Small steps completed thoroughly mater. I hope it changes for the next person in HCL ER after an emergent need for help. No shortcuts.
