Turns out it is ADHD
I found Dr. April to be very condescending. I explained my struggles with PPD and my concern of possible ADHD. She brushed off my concerns and only perused anxiety and depression questioning and testing, saying if this doesn’t help me that we can revisit my concerns later. After our first appointment I received an “evaluation” stating that I exaggerated symptoms, only had a case of “mom brain” which she stated over and over again and that depression and anxiety were significant. Which was not news to me at all and not what I was looking for help with. I had many valid concerns about attention problems, memory lapses and again it was brushed off as “mom brain”. Needless to say that was my First and only appointment with Dr. April. I understand that we are looking for them to make diagnosis and it should be done in a timely manner but ignoring a patients valid concerns and only perusing what she thought to be a concern even though I already had many anxiety and depression diagnosis.

April owns a therapy clinic, where she hired her husband Justin as a therapist and as the Director of the clinic. I initially called and spoke with April and she suggested that I meet with her husband. While I was a little worried about the conflict of interest, I decided to trust her. It did not go well. Her husband is not a good therapist. When I attempted to end meeting with him it went even worse. They continued to charge me for appointments. When I was “breaking up” with her husband, I sent him an email explaining my concerns. She then responded very defensively on behalf of her husband, also reminding me that I had to pay for the sessions after I said I wasn’t seeing her husband any further. People are in a vulnerable place when they seek out a therapist. Finding this, was about as bad as it gets.

Dr. Krowel knows her stuff and she delivers feedback in a constructive and empathic demeanor. I brought my daughter to see her for a neuropsychological evaluation and although we had to hear some difficult information, I could tell she cared about my daughter tremendously. The passion she has for what she does is evident from the first interaction.

Dr. Krowel is a fantastic psychologist. She is very thorough, personable and really seems to care about her patients. Even when she had to give my family feedback that was not what we wanted to hear, she delivered the news in such a empathic manner. Highly recommend Dr. Krowel.

I was impressed with the manner of Dr. Crowell. My time is limited, and she helped me accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. She was very thorough and I feel good knowing that there are professionals like her available in the Indianapolis area.
