I had a great experience
I am kind of confused after reading these reviews here. I was seen twice in November and December at the Electric Road location, and I had great experiences both times. Dr. Kartesz was funny and made me feel comfortable, I would recommend him in a second. A bit of humor goes a long way in my book especially in the medical field. The guy who helped me order my glasses was also good at knowing his job and had humor as well! I do agree that some of the women in there could lighten up a bit and smile but overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this office to my employees.

Find an ethical optometrist elsewhere! A patient for over 50 yrs. Late 2018 I went in for an exam and to order new glasses & frames. I gave them my vision care insurance card, had the exam, ordered new lenses & frames and discussed the cost. I paid the bill, got my glasses in a week or so and was happy. A year later I received a bill for an additional $155. The office manager said it had been filed with Medicare, not my vision insurance. I was not told that they were not filing it with my insurance company or that I was expected to pay more than the agreed upon price. I called my insurance company. They said I should not have to pay that since the optometrist office misfiled it. The office manager said she would talk to the Dr about it. I heard nothing for about 4 months when I received another bill for the same amount. I called back. The office manager said Dr Kartesz would call me the first of the next week. Instead another employee called to say they would not reverse the charges.

I'm sitting in the Kartesz Family Eye Care office. I got here at 9am for a 9:15am appt. It's currently 10:55 am and I still have not been seen. Another woman in the waiting room complained that she had been waiting a long time and that it's always like that here. I had no idea because this is my first appt here. I wish I would've known because I scheduled another appt at 11am that I am now late to. I'm leaving the office without having been seen by the doctor so that I can make my next appt.

Other reviewers have mention their questionable relationship the staff at the Valley View location have with the truth and I can confirm that this is true at the Electric Road location as well. They have no problem whatsoever with lying to you, each other, or your insurance company if it is to their benefit. I would never recommend anyone associated with Dr. Karesz for anything.

Dr. Kartesz is friendly and efficient but his staff is very questionable at the valleyview location. Their coding and billing practicies are very questionable. Not to mention, they are not truthful, lack customer service skills, and customer retention. If you are considering becoming a patient or a current patient pay close attention to your bill and be fully aware of the patient responsibility.
