Amanda Mikols

I'm glad that I was already looking for a new therapist when Ms. Mikols left her the practice I was seeing her at. During our last session, I said I was depressed because of how bad my career was going. I mentioned that I felt I was going nowhere. Her suggestion was to donate my plasma for money. She missed the point. The worst part of the session was when she said that I had so many years still ahead of me and feeling in such despair I said, "Well if it was like the last few decades, why would I even want that?" The rest of the conversation was full of therapist 101 pablum and platitudes. Less than a week, later she said she was leaving the practice she was at. After clearly saying, I didn't want to live, she disappeared. No suggestions of who else I could see. No concern about a blatant cry for help. I'm glad I was in the process of looking for someone else. Her actions were cruel and as a mental health professional, dangerous. Stay away.
