Amanda delivered my first baby in December of 2021 and she was amazing! She helped me through labor. She gave me space when I needed it and encouragement and hands on care when I needed that too. She was very in-tune with my needs and she helped me push through to the end! She makes you feel so comfortable and capable and her demeanor puts you at ease. When I had a postpartum hemorrhage, she was very calm and worked efficiently to stop the bleeding. I loved my experience with Amanda at the Birth Center of Baton Rouge!

Amanda was so amazing! Throughout my pregnancy she was a steady presence in a wild time (2020), I always felt heard and seen. During my labour, she was calm and followed my lead, gently guiding me and my husband when we would need it, like when I began to push. At first the change startled me, so she told me to remember my breathing and trust my body— and two breaths later baby was born! We’d planned for my husband to catch our daughter, but HE MISSED! Amanda was there in all her glory to catch that baby and then place her on my chest. It’s a moment I’ll remember the rest of my life! Her support didn’t end there, during postpartum Amanda helped me through mastitis and blockages and all the emotional changes that came with motherhood. There’s no one else I would trust more to be on this journey with my family!

Amanda was such a blessing at the Birth Center! She took the time to listen to all of my concern and experiences to develop a plan that worked best for me. She was also present for my birth, and I wouldn’t have been able to have the natural birth that I wanted with her assistance! LOVE Amanda!

Amanda is one of the most personable, educated, and down to earth midwives there is. She is funny and always made me feel comfortable. She provided an excellent level of care- that’s why I’m having my third birth at the birth center of Baton Rouge! She is wonderful! Best around!

Amanda Lewis was my midwife throughout my pregnancy and attended the delivery of my first son. She went above and beyond offering top notch medical care with the kindness and empathy of a friend or sister. She cares so deeply and her passion for women’s health, pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care is so evident. Appointments were never rushed and she always took the time to answer questions and make sure I fully understood what was happening with my body and my baby and that I understood all the options I had in my care. I highly recommend her!

Amanda was more than my midwife she became family. I had my 5th baby back in May 2022 and Amanda was one of my midwives and my all time favorite. From day one she made me and my husband feel so comfortable and insured us that we would have the dream birth we wanted and she did just that. She didn’t only tend to my needs throughout my pregnancy but my husband’s and kid’s as well. I would literally have another baby just to have Amanda again lol…she’s really that good. The sweetest person I ever met and the BEST midwife EVER!

Amanda was my midwife from beginning to end. She walked me through every step of the way. I ended up not being able to deliver naturally and having to have a csection, but Amanda was the first person that greeted me at the hospital at 5am. She held my hand during the surgery and took pictures and video of the whole experience for us. I’ll be eternally grateful for her. In my mind there is no one better.

Amanda Lewis is the BEST! She made my first pregnancy completely magical and I enjoyed every visit with her!! Amanda really listens to you and cares about your well-being not only as a carrier of a baby but as a human who is going through something incredible and who might be scared and sometimes nauseated and most likely uncomfortable in one area or another. I felt heard and understood and always safe. She was everything I wanted and needed in a midwife. When my husband and I started trying for a second, Amanda was the first person I called! Truly, you are in great hands with Amanda.

Amanda is extremely caring and knowledgeable. I had the pleasure of having her as my midwife for my second pregnancy. She listens to her patients and makes sure they feel heard, even in emergencies. I had postpartum hemorrhaging after delivery and Amanda was so calming during the experience. She treated me respectfully and compassionately, making sure both my husband and I were well informed of what she was doing and watching for the whole time. She went above and beyond! I am so grateful for her. I must add that she was extremely knowledgeable in my baby’s position before birth. She helped me get my son into an optimal position after I complained about prodromal labor the week before my delivery. She listened to my concerns and found he was stuck on my pubic bone. That night, I followed her instructions and I felt him move into position. I had him a few days later with minimal pushing. I highly recommend her and the Birth Center of Baton Rouge for your next birth!

Amanda made every single OB visit I had with her a wonderful experience. She bring such peace and comfort to the room. She listened to every question and concern I had and answered with experienced knowledge and sincerity. Even still I look forward to my yearly GYN visits with her! I will always recommend Amanda!
