Alyssa Norenberg, OTR

Having had the opportunity to work alongside her for a number of years as well as be a benefactor of the services she provides (with two of our sons), she is without question one of the best, if not the best, pediatric occupational therapists I know. She has an incredible knowledge-base and works well with any child and family. She does a great job at providing carry-over activities to help further a child's development and does so well at working with parents and following up and problem-solving with them whenever needed. She is good at making referrals when needed and tailors every session to each client's needs. On top of being a gifted and incredible therapist, she is an amazing person. She has an absolute heart of gold, is a person of high integrity and convictions, and you will be blessed to have her as your child's therapist!

We are so grateful that we have had the opportunity to benefit from Alyssa's expertise as an occupational therapist. She is patient, observant, creative, empathetic, and passionate about helping kids develop and grow. She worked collaboratively with us to help our preschool-aged son with autism and global developmental disorder and always took the time to answer any questions I had. I appreciated that she taught me how to work with him at home as well, which has allowed him to meet milestones more quickly. She saw his potential and, with a lot of patience and persistence, she figured out how to draw him out of his own little world and helped him to connect with us and others. I will be forever thankful for the huge impact she has made on our son's life!

Alyssa is an amazing occupational therapist who has a gift for connecting with children and their families. She is an excellent observer and listener and is so patient. She worked with my son who has autism for about a year and a half and we saw so much progress in him. She has a lot of experience and was so good at following our child's lead and gently guiding him in the direction she needed him to go. They had such a great rapport that my son was always excited to go see her. We are so glad our family has had the privilege of working with her. She was always willing to teach me how to help our son and answer any questions and her care for our son was genuine. She's the best!

From my son's assessment through diagnosis, treatment, and eventually dismissal from OT (a 4+ year process) Alyssa always made us feel part of the process. My son looked forward to his time at therapy with her and she was often able to get to the root of his struggles because of their amazing rapport. Alyssa has a vast array of ideas and methods that she utilizes and made sure she found techniques that work for my child as well as our family. We were able to get help from her in setting up routines at home to support his sensory needs and his emotional regulation. When needed, she helped communicate with school to help him be successful there as well. Before working with Alyssa, I can honestly say that I was afraid of what the future for my son, as well as that of our family, would look like. I am beyond thankful to have her as part of our village, and can say with certainty that having her as my son's occupational therapist has been life-changing in the best way possible!
